Policy on the carriage of Power Banks
In order to maintain the safety of flights through the mitigation of risks associated with the carriage of power banks, PassionAir has the following requirements in accordance with the IATA DGR Edition 67 and the IATA Changes Regarding Power Banks issued 27 March 2026:
- Watt-hour Rating: Power Banks above 100Wh will not be accepted for carriage on our flights.
- Stowage: Power banks must be carried on one’s person or within carry-on baggage only.
- In-flight Charging: Power banks must not be recharged while on board the aircraft.
- Device Charging: Power banks may not be used to charge portable electronic devices during the flight.
- Quantity Limit: Passengers and crew are limited to two power banks per person.
- Short Circuit Protection: Units with exposed terminals must be individually protected to prevent short circuits when not in use, such as by taping over exposed terminals or placing them in separate plastic bags.
- Prohibited Models of power banks: The following models of power banks are prohibited on board our flights:
• Anker Power Banks (Models: A1642/ A1647/ A1652/ A1689/ A1257/ A1681)
• Anker Power Core 10000 (Model: A1263)
• ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks (Models: 2G520/ 2G505B/ 2G512B)
• Belkin BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger Power Banks 10K (Model: BPD005)
• SnapWireless PowerPack Slim – Gen 1 (Model: PPS)
• Comsol 10000mAh 20W USB-A & USB-C magnetic wireless power bank (Model:WMPB10A / COWMPB10A)8 - . Acceptance: Power banks that are accepted to be carried on flight must be checked to:
• Ensure the device shows no signs of leakage or bloating.
• Ensure the Watt-hour rating is readable.
