Tamale, Ghana

Tamale is the capital city of the Northern region in Ghana and it is located 600km north of Accra. Due to its location, Tamale serves as a hub for all administrative and commercial activities in the region and also the political, economic and financial capital of the region.

Tamale is located on the crossing of three ancient routes: the north-south road from Paga and Bolgatanga to Salaga, the salt route from Daboya to the north-west of Tamale and the third route linking Tamale to Damongo, in the Gonja Kingdom. Tamale has a typical wet and dry climate with a population of over 500 thousand people.
