Pisces Aviation Limited is a wholly owned Ghanaian company with the trading name PassionAir. Incorporated in July 2015, we obtained our Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Ghana Civil Aviation

Authority (GCAA) in September 2017.  PassionAir was birthed from charter operations, by providing flight services to a client in the oil and gas industry, and commenced commercial operations in August 2018.

Our maiden flight in the Ghanaian domestic market was on 23 August 2018 to Kumasi with the Canadian Ambassador to Ghana as the guest of honour. The colourful occasion was graced by a representative from Manhyia Palace, the Anantahene, Nana Baffour. Subsequently, we commenced operations to Tamale and Takoradi. Within the last eleven (11) months, we have launched two (2) new routes to Wa and Sunyani. This makes PassionAir the domestic airline with the largest route network in Ghana (Accra, Takoradi, Kumasi, Tamale, Wa and Sunyani).

PassionAir seeks to make air travel an experience designed to meet and exceed the expectations of the customer in the Ghanaian domestic market. We have further plans to offer seamless connections between Ghanaian cities with the airports to facilitate air travel, hence our aim of connecting Ghana one (1) city at a time.

PassionAir Operations

PassionAir has a fleet of four (4) Bombardier Dash8 – Q400, 78-seater, with comfortable seats, ample leg room pitch 31’’, excellent air-conditioning, well-lit cabin and a large luggage compartment.

The Q400, the latest in the Q Series family, provides unmatched performance and operational flexibility. Designed as a modern, 21st- century turboprop, it entered service in the year 2000.

It is manufactured by De Havilland in Canada. Three (3) aircraft are used for commercial operations and one (1) is dedicated to charters.

All of our aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, which filter out airborne particles capturing 99.97% of particles in the airflow.

The Q400 radically reduces carbon emissions and increases cost efficiency. Its high-speed cruise, 160 km/h faster than conventional turboprops, places the aircraft within minutes of jet schedules, at the same seat cost as a single-aisle jet twice its size.

Its large propeller operates at a lower Rate Per Mile RPM, generating more power with less noise and making it a friendly option for city centres.

The Q400 aircraft has logged almost seven (7) million flight hours with over sixty (60) owners and operators in approximately forty (40) countries.

With a dispatch reliability rate of over 99.5%, the aircraft have transported more than four hundred (400) million passengers worldwide. And, thanks to its industry-leading passenger experience, operating costs and environmental footprint, the Q400 is the pinnacle of modern turboprop design.

Range

The Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 has a maximum range (not including headwinds, high altitude, hot temperature, or higher capacity) of 2,012 miles and a maximum speed of 393mph. As always with aircraft, the Bombardier Q400 range will vary depending on the weight of the load being carried and weather/wind conditions when flying the Bombardier Q400.
